The mysterious eye of the Sahara

The mysterious eye of the Sahara. We are in the middle of the desert and precisely in Ouadane, Mauritania. Here we find a circular structure with a diameter of 40 kilometers. Created over 500 million years ago, this structure is clearly visible from space. At first it was thought to be a crater created by the fall of meteorites, but it has never been explained how the differences in height of more than 40 meters between one circle and another were created. Discovered during the American space flight from Gemini 4, in June 1965, Richat’s Structure (also called so) appears as a large blue and green eye with a huge spiral fossil in the center.
