The monumental Church of San Niccolò is a very small church located in the upper part of Cortona, a bit hidden and difficult to find. If the exterior is very simple, with a stone facade and a small porch, the interior is amazing for the richness of the colors and decorations of the coffered ceiling. On the main altar there is the gonfalon of the Compagnia di San Niccolò which, by operating the opening mechanism, shows a hidden painting depicting a religious scene of the Madonna and Child.
