View of Mount Koli in the seven-year-old Karelia, famous for its beautiful hilly and wooded landscape. This particular hill is called Mäkrävaara, and from a distance you can see Ukko-Koli, the highest peak, which stands 253 metres above Lake Pielinen. The famous painting "Autumn Landscape on Lake Pielinen" by the Finnish painter Eero Järnefelt captured this landscape on a day in 1899.
