The former San Rocco Hospital, also incorporates the small church of the Flagellated Christ, which recently came to light for some restoration work, is also known as the "Church of the artists" almost anticipating future events, had belonged to the Congregation that since the second half of the seventeenth century grouped the artists of Matera. The church has only one nave, once all frescoed. The restoration carried out by the Superintendence of Matera in the 90s has brought to light many eighteenth-century frescoes. Today it is used as a conference room of the former hospital complex.
