in the palace of the Trionfi family there is an underground system with a cave and a small circular temple.
The cave complex is remarkable in terms of its architecture and bas-relief decorations. Particularly interesting are the two rooms one with a circular plan and the other with an octagonal plan, connected by a long and striking corridor, clearly intended as a place of worship or meeting that feature religious symbols carved on the walls together with ornamental friezes of various kinds.
According to an oral tradition, unidentified "warrior friars" gathered in these rooms . It is possible that this legendary aspect was fostered by the presence in Camerano since the Middle Ages of a pilgrims’ hospital and a Hospitaller order, as attested by a church of St. John, demolished in the 2nd half of the 18th century, and some properties of the Order of the Knights of Malta in the same district.
In the Triumphal Caves we find numerous symbols and decorations, such as two three-lobed crosses and an eight-pointed star found on the vault of the octagonal hall. Inside the latter hall there is also a special acoustic effect that amplifies the voice of those in the center of the hall, an effect that often leaves visitors astonished.
