The Dead Vlei, or "Dead Marsh", is essentially a forest frozen in time. The absence of water and the intense heat have burnt all the vegetation in the valley, leaving only black skeletons of trees that do not decompose because the earth is too dry. This unique, very strange, natural landscape has caught the attention of many curious people, especially photographers.
