The Clock Tower of Pulcinella … is nothing more than a (truly) original clock located in Piazza Michelozzo, halfway down the very long Via di Gracciano nel Corso.
On the tower stands an unusual Punchinello that strikes the hours. Why it is there is still a mystery: some say that a bishop of Campania, of whom no trace has ever been found, wanted to build a statue of the Neapolitan mask. Until a few years ago Punchinello was loaded by hand every evening, now the mechanism is mechanical but no less suggestive: I swear that with an attentive ear, Punchinello beating the hours can be heard from every corner of Montepulciano!
