The Castelluccio di Battipaglia, commonly called "Castelluccia" is a medieval castle located on the hills overlooking the Sele plain and the charming town of Battipaglia. The Castelluccio di Battipaglia, is a defensive structure, a castle built presumably around the year 1080. built in a strategic position, such as to protect from above the entire surrounding town. Realized in a strategic position, able to guarantee protection to the whole surrounding inhabited area, the Castelluccio was wanted by Prince Guaimario IV.
