The Carillon and the Rheinfeld hero

The carillon in the rumble reminds of the Rheinfeld hero, the tailor of Rheinfelden. During the Thirty Years’ War, the Swedes were at the gates and wanted to conquer Rheinfelden. They were fired upon to starve the Rheinfelden out. Soon the population ran out of food. But then came the tailor of Rheinfelden. He made a dress out of the fur of the last goat, put it on and ran around on the town wall bleating so loudly. The Swedes thought that the people of Rheinfelden must still have a lot to eat. They decided to give up the siege and move on. Rheinfelden was saved. In honour of the tailor of Rheinfelden there is this carillon today.
