Welcome to Japan and precisely at the gates of Beppu, in the northeast. This town has been famous since the Middle Ages for hosting 2900 hot springs, geysers and fumaroles, a sign of considerable underground volcanic activity.
Second only to Yellowstone Park, Beppu is the largest spa complex in Japan. A Dantean atmosphere, where you can admire "the nine hells of Beppu" or better known as Jigoku. Legend has it that its hot springs have extraordinary powers over body and mind, attracting 12 million visitors each year.
The only precaution "don’t dive into its waters", it would be like diving into a boiling pool.
