Within a national park, the beach of about one kilometre is of breathtaking beauty. Among Corsica lovers, the beach of Saleccia – one of the most beautiful in the north of the island – is famous as a destination for hikers in the mild seasons: in summer, take the customs officers’ path that from Saint-Florent first reaches Lotu and then the long strip of white sand (3.30 hours at a good pace) and its crystal clear waters is almost prohibitive if you do not travel before dawn. Too hot. But the temperatures in July and August do not worry the bathers who frequent the wild beach within the Désert des Agriates nature reserve (despite its name, it is not a real desert). It is not an equipped beach and it must be said immediately and therefore before leaving for the wild world of Saleccia, remember that it is a place far from everything.
