The pebble beach of Petra tou Romiou ("rock", from the Greek) is located about 22 km from Paphos and holds the legend of the birth of the goddess Aphrodite. It is a beautiful beach and equipped with umbrellas and deckchairs, there are also bars, changing rooms, access to the beach for disabled people and rescue service. Before going to the seashore, enjoy the spectacle that awaits you admiring Petra Tou Romiou from the other side: coming from Limassol, follow the signs to Aphrodite’s Rock and stop at a curved parking lot overlooking the sea, from which you can admire the beach and its stacks. In the middle of the day, the sun will bring out the hues of the water, but it is at sunset that you will see Petra Tou Romiou in all its glory. The site is part of a large forest park area, so you can also venture along the paths and reach the top of the hillock to the west of the beach (on the side of the road towards Paphos), where you can sit on the benches, in the shade of a tourist pavilion, to admire Aphrodite’s Rock from that angle too.
