The ancient walls of Manciano (over 5 km) that encircled the castle, over time have been incorporated into the town, but you can easily recognize long stretches along the road on which overlooks the outermost row of houses in the village. The walls were also equipped with 11 towers, 6 of which were cylindrical towers and 5 shielded towers; to date two of them have been preserved: one in via Trento (along the ramp that opens from via Marsala) and one, cut off, on the left of Porta Fiorella. The latter is located on the north side of the village and on it there is the Aldobrandesco coat of arms. The points where other towers were built in ancient times can be identified by looking carefully at some small squares that can be found along Via Curtatone and Via XX Settembre.
