TEMPLI DI RANAKPUR, UN VIAGGIO IN INDIA

The splendid temple complex of Ranakpur is one of the largest and most important temples dedicated to the Jainist religion in India and is considered an admirable example of architecture, so much so that it is listed among the 77 wonders of the world. The temple rises in the quiet valley of the Arivalli chain, on the banks of the Maghai stream and is one of the most important jainist pilgrimage destinations. The most important building on the site is the temple of Chaumukha, the "Temple of the four faces" which is dedicated to Adinath. The site that houses the complex is located on a hill not far from Pali and occupies an area of 3,800 square meters. Adequate clothing is required to enter the temple, which requires women to wear clothes that cover the knee and leather items such as belts or bags are not allowed.
