Taormina is certainly known for its monuments and history, but it is also renowned for its beaches. The sea of Taormina is spectacular from a landscape point of view: the beaches are almost always located among the Mediterranean vegetation, which makes them unique and special. The most sought-after beach by tourists is surely that of Isola Bella, a small island connected to the mainland by a tongue of sand.
