The mayor of a Swiss village has found an original way of advertising: he has explicitly banned selfie, but also all photographs intended for social media. Why? Because Bergun/ Bravuogn is too beautiful, and images of happy people in the idyllic village risk making those who can’t go there sad. The news has bounced across all the international media, not always accompanied by the video in which the mayor explains the ban, which would have let us understand the ironic component of the message. Just think that the inhabitants of Bergun have even asked NASA to delete the satellite images, because even from space it is too beautiful. Tam Tam was frantic, and for several weeks the media reported the strange ban almost with a sort of idignation. A marketing strategy that was brilliant to say the least: within a few days, Bergun’s images were everywhere. Now the mayor has announced that the ‘friendly ban’ (as it was called) will be lifted, and that people will be able to go back to taking pictures of the holidays in Bergun. But in moderation, so as not to make the relatives at home sad.
