In the city of Sueca there is even a museum that pays homage to cocoa, thanks to the Comes Handmade Chocolate, an old factory in Valencia with a long history and tradition in the production of chocolate as a dessert.
The Chocolate Museum allows visitors to observe the process of chocolate production from cocoa to chocolate, just as it is eaten today. It contains the oldest tools for making chocolate, metal tools, including stone mills and everything needed to make chocolate in its most traditional form.
To this must be added the first tool for roasting cocoa, the pastadora, emulsifiers and all the original parts.
The factory was founded in 1870, and today it boasts a library related to chocolate as well as photographs and documents … of cocoa. In the community of Valencia it is the only museum that pays homage to chocolate.
Of course if you visit it after the tour you can enjoy the wonderful handmade chocolate! What more could you want? (We recommend that you contact the secretariat in advance to visit the museum)
