The State Bank, built in 1911-1913 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, is a two-story building with splendid round towers, resembling a fairy-tale castle.
The interior is beautifully decorated with excellent frescoes and the antechambers on each floor are covered with huge "magic" mirrors that, according to legend, fulfill two wishes, one material and the other spiritual, of those who are reflected in them. This building, which is open to the public only once a year (May 17), is the most popular photo subject for visitors.Address: Bolshaya Pokrovskaya 26, Nizhny Novgorod.
