Setenil de las Bodegas, a small white town in Andalucía

Setenil de las Bodegas is a small white-painted town near Ronda in Andalucía, Spain. It is compact and easy to walk around though there are several hills and steps so not suitable for everyone. The houses have very small walls and roofs as these were added to caves, originally wine cellars. The only windows are at the front. There are two main streets, one in the sun and one in the shade but both with the characteristic boulders overhanging above. The sunny street is the most ‘touristy’ with bars and restaurants. In addition to the cave houses there is a large church and Arabic wall high on the hill. Make sure to take the walk to the top and watch the amazing view over the valley.
