The indicative prices for a two-hour lesson, including a board and instructor, are around 150,000-200,000 Indonesian rupiah, equivalent to about 9-12 euros at the time of writing this article. The local instructors are well acquainted with the currents of the bay and can indicate the safest areas for beginners, which are generally located in the central part of the crescent.

The best time to visit is early in the morning, between 7 and 9, when the sunlight is sideways and enhances the colors of the water, the wind is still absent, and the beach is mainly frequented by local fishermen returning with their colorful wooden boats. In the afternoon, especially in July and August, the influx of tourists significantly increases. Those seeking minimal crowds should consider the months of May, June, or September, when the weather is already dry but mass tourism has not yet reached summer peaks. Bringing enough water is essential: the warungs on the beach sell it, but at higher prices than the minimarkets in Kuta.

Selong Belanak does not have organized umbrella rental facilities along the entire beach, so bringing a towel and, if you want shade, a light beach tent is a practical choice. The hygienic conditions of the available facilities are typical of a beach with minimal infrastructure in a developing country: adequate but not comparable to European standards.
Those who arrive expecting a completely deserted beach may be partially disappointed during the high season, but those seeking a balance between untouched natural beauty, crystal-clear water suitable for swimming, and an authentic atmosphere will find in Selong Belanak one of the most genuine corners of the southern coast of Lombok.
