On the east coast of Sardinia, among the beautiful coves of the Gulf of Orosei, lies the beach of Ispuligedenie better known as Cala Mariolu. It is a fairytale inlet, considered one of the most beautiful in Italy.
Off the beach, at certain times of the year, you can witness an exceptional phenomenon: a spring of fresh water gushes out in the middle of the salty sea, drinking water that you can also drink. To be able to admire it you have to swim a little bit.
The fresh water spring originates from the streams that, during the winter, due to the heavy rains, swell up and make it luxuriant and therefore well visible to the naked eye, thanks to the incredible transparency of the water and the shallow seabed.
