Santa Croce Church

Santa Croce is a long rectangular square, bordered by large stone benches. It is one of the most popular and popular meeting places for Florentines : both for the numerous clubs and restaurants that crowd the surrounding streets, and for its proximity to the national library, or for the frequent events – among the most famous football in costume – held annually. The marble statue of the High Poet, Dante Alighieri, made in 1865, stands in front of the facade of the basilica of Santa Croce, also known as the Temple of the Italian Glories to keep inside the remains of top artists, writers and scientists: Foscolo , Rossini , Machiavelli, Galileo , Michelangelo , to name a few. You will be delighted by the chapels decorated by Giotto , as well as rediscovering the works of Cimabue , Canova and the della Robbia .
