Sant’Anna Historical Museum of Resistance

The Museo Storico della Resistenza Sant’Anna, built on the old structure of the village’s primary schools, was inaugurated in the autumn of 1982, by the President of the Republic Sandro Pertini. On 19th September 1991, thanks to the Regional Law n.39/91, it was transformed into the current Historical Museum of the Resistance. The arrangement of the museum space is imagined as the articulation of an open path, with places of relation and points of view that highlight the spatial relationship between the internal exhibitions and the surrounding area, where part of the events described occurred, creating a series of stable correspondences with the history, identity and morphology of the place. On the external facade, next to the plaque that shows the ode of Calamandrei to Kesselring, there is a sculptural reproduction of a detail of Picasso’s "Guernica".
