The complex included numerous buildings, including temples, initiation halls, theaters, baths and fountains.The archaeological site of Eleusis has been largely reconstructed and restored, with many well-preserved structures. One of the highlights of the sanctuary is the initiation hall known as the "telesterion," where mysteries were held. The hall was a theater-like structure that could seat up to 3,000 people. Other highlights include the temple of Demeter and the temple of Kore, dedicated to Demeter's daughter Persephone.
