ove along to the northernmost point of the town until you reach Piazza Sant’Agostino, where you will find Sant’Agostino Church, a 13th century building which is remarkable for a number of reasons. Go straight to the Cappella Maggiore, with its frescos on the Stories of Saint Augustine, considered to be one of the greatest masterpieces of the iconography of the saint and the works of Benozzo Gozzoli, a painter from the Florentine school. The Saint Sebastien is also attributed to him. In this depiction, the martyr isn’t shown as the usual nude, riddled with arrows, but elegantly dressed in blue. The church also contains some precious 15th century canvases and panels by Antonio del Pollaiolo.
