The Tassian Museum is located in the premises of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem in the convent of Sant’Onofrio near the Janiculum. The museum, opened in 1939, houses, in addition to the room where the writer died, a collection of works written by Torquato Tasso including La Gerusalemme liberata and materials that belonged to the writer himself, including: an autographed letter, the chest that contained the writer’s ashes and various personal heirlooms including a crucifix and an ancient ceramic, as well as the funeral mask.
