Arsenals – Fine Arts Museum is the most spacious art exhibition hall in Riga and regularly hosts major art exhibitions, international projects and a variety of art and culture events. The exhibition hall is housed in a significant architectural monument – an early 19th century customs warehouse or arsenal, representing the late Russian Classicism style.
Arsenals building has been used as a warehouse at all times. In the 1980s, it was taken over by the Culture Ministry who handed it over to the art museum. In 1989, Arsenals opened.
