Riccia is the most important town in the Fortore valley, located on the side of a hill, in a landscape marked by fields of wheat, olive groves and green woods of beech, ash and turkey oaks. To visit is the medieval old town and, through narrow streets and steep stone steps, the area called Piano della Corte, with the imposing tower and the precious Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie.Along the way, don’t miss the 13th century lions of the portal of the Church of the Assunta, the façade of the Church of the Annunziata, with one of the most beautiful portals of Molise, enriched by small columns and refined bas-reliefs, some elegant windows and portals of 19th century private houses.
Inside the "Magazeno", an ancient building of Piano della Corte, the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions collects ancient working tools and an exciting series of objects of the past.
On the 2nd Sunday of September, the streets of Riccia are crisscrossed by carts depicting scenes of country life, decorated with shoots, bunches of grapes and grapes. Beautiful.
Among music and dances, wine and typical products are distributed to the spectators.
