In the heart of Ragusa hides an extraordinary work of art, a "secret" street art in the courtyard of the "Fermi" Scientific High School. The work, called "Ragusa Sun," was created by American artist Alex Brewer, known as Hense, and colors the courtyard floor with his vivid, abstract paintings."Ragusa Sun" is a mural that stretches across the asphalt, creating geometric shapes superimposed with wavy lines. The colors are bold and definitely contrast with the surrounding architecture, transforming the environment into a unique and bright place. This artwork offers creative insights and inspiration not only to the school’s students, but to all who visit.Atlanta-born artist Hense is known for his abstract works and overlapping patterns, which can be found on canvases, outdoor murals and even billboards. His vibrant and recognizable colors can be found all over the world, from America to Germany, via Taiwan and Australia. The work in the courtyard of "Fermi" High School was shared again by Hense on his Facebook page in early 2022 to commemorate this extraordinary creation. Although two years have passed, the work remains a real "secret gem" of Ragusa, which continues to surprise and amaze. It is one of the many surprises our land has to offer, an unexpected artistic touch that embellishes the city and makes it even more special.
