Besides turkey, on a good American table we also find the famous Pumpkin Pie. The latter, in fact, is considered a symbol of the harvesting period, as well as a characteristic symbol of Halloween. Pumpkin Pie is a dessert born in North America, usually made in autumn and at the beginning of winter, especially for Thanksgiving Day, but also at Christmas time. The pie consists of a layer of pumpkin cream on a shortcrust pastry shell; it is usually flavored with nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and ginger, and is traditionally served with whipped cream. Pumpkin pie is prepared from the puree of the pulp, appropriately flavored.
