Kartoffelsalat is perhaps the most popular dish in Germany. This unpretentious but delicious cold potato salad goes well with almost any German cuisine. Its preparation varies from region to region: sometimes it’s dressed with mayonnaise, sometimes with oil and vinegar, so it’s up to you to choose your favorite version.In southern Germany, Austria, Trentino-Alto Adige and Croatia, potatoes can be mixed with meat broth, vinegar and oil.
