The site located near Nebida dates back to 1924 and was excavated entirely by hand by miners. It was not actually a real mine but was used to transport ore extracted from the Masua mines to the sea. What remains of the site today is a tunnel that leads from Masua to a sheer opening to the sea from which one can admire the Pan di Zucchero, the beautiful stacks that lie just in front of the former mine.
