Poolbeg Lighthouse

Poolbeg Lighthouse is a lighthouse located in Dublin, Ireland, on the southern tip of Dublin Bay. The lighthouse was built in 1768 and has been in operation since 1796.The lighthouse tower is about 20 meters high and sits atop a rocky promontory. Its light can be seen up to 27 kilometers away and has been of great importance for navigation in the waters of Dublin Bay.Poolbeg Lighthouse was fully automated in 1996 and the tower was closed to the public. However, the lighthouse is still active and its light is visible at night.In addition to its role as an aid to navigation, the Poolbeg Lighthouse has also become an iconic symbol of Dublin City, and its image often appears on postcards and souvenirs.
