In the heart of Metz is the Place d’Armes, created at the end of the 18th century. In this place you will find the maestora cathèdral de Saint-Etienne in French Gothic style, built between the end of the 14th and the beginning of the 15th century. Thanks to the large area of decorated stained glass windows (the largest in France and Europe) that give a striking spectacle of colour when the sun’s rays seem to filter through the glass, the beauty of this play of light has made the cathedral nicknamed "Lanterne du Bon Dieu": visit it, it is absolutely worth it.
In addition, at Metz Cathedral you can admire the Gothic statues, the very high arches that stand more than 40 meters above the nave.
