Among the traditional Christmas dishes of Campania is definitely the pizza with escarole, a vegetable pizza to eat both hot and cold, perhaps stealing a slice from the kitchen while you are waiting to get to the table.
A mix of fragrant flavors welcome the palate, between the sautéed escarole and the soft homemade dough. Some people garnish the vegetables with olives, capers, sultanas, anchovies, garlic and chilli pepper. Excellent fresh from the oven, hot and delicious to eat on a plate or directly with your hands, while the next day is even better.
