From Piazza della Repubblica you can reach in a few steps Piazza Signorelli, named after the painter Luca Signorelli from Cortona. Here you will find the Signorelli Theatre, built in the middle of the 19th century, and Palazzo Casali, seat of the MAEC (Museum of the Etruscan Academy and of the City of Cortona), which houses the Historical Archives and the Municipal Library.
