Senate Square is a truly monumental square, located in the centre of the capital of Finland. It is overlooked by the Lutheran Cathedral, a neoclassical church, and connects it to the University and the Council Palace. All these impressive buildings were designed by a famous German architect, Carl Ludvig Engel.
Every day something really unique happens in this square, precisely at 17:49: at this time you can hear a sound installation called "Sound of Senate Square", where the music of a music box travels from one building to another. The best position to listen to it is near the statue of Alexander II.
