Pertusillo Lake…The dam of the so-called Pertusillo Stone Lake was built in the fifties in the territory of Spinoso, blocking the Agri River at the height of the Pertusillo Strait.
The reservoir occupies an area of 75 square kilometers with a capacity from 145 to 155 million cubic meters of water.
Although the work has had a considerable environmental impact, the preservation and respect for the environment has allowed the proliferation in the area of numerous species of animals, even uncommon ones, which often live in the lake; among the resident animals there are coots, mallards, pochards and a large number of birds of prey present in Italy, while in the most isolated parts of the lake there is also the grey heron.
