The Permanent Collection of the Fondazione Roma, in Palazzo Sciarra, is composed of an original excursus of works that embrace a very wide historical-artistic period, from ‘400 to ‘900, going through all the centuries. A heritage that is constantly increased by periodic acquisitions, demonstrating the Foundation’s interest in art and its desire to increase the cultural offer to the community.
The exceptional collection, which boasts paintings, sculptures, prints, engravings, ceramics and tapestries, was created with the intention of preserving the idea of Rome as it has presented itself to the world of culture over the centuries. The masterpieces that make up the Collection are heterogeneous in school and style, but their ensemble is characterized by originality and coherence. Most of the works, in fact, have a close connection, by subject or author, with the city of Rome, the fulcrum of the Foundation’s activities.
