Pendattilo : the ghost town

Pendattilo is a city now completely uninhabited. The village stands perched on a cliff with a curious shape, reminiscent of the shape of a hand with five titanic fingers, to which it owes its name (pentedattilo in Greek means five fingers). The ancient nucleus of the village was declared uninhabitable and completely abandoned in 1971: the population moved a little further down the valley and from the new village you can admire the old ghost town.
