Pavlopetri is one of the world’s oldest underwater cities located off the coast of southern Laconia in the Peloponnese region. The city of Pavlopetri is 5000 years old and it marks the beginning of the western civilization. It was named after the two Christian Saints that are celebrated together. State-of-the-art CGI helped to raise the city from the depths of the sea revealing how Pavlopetri would have looked.
The numerous relics, streets and stone buildings, the detached two-storey houses alongside courtyards and gardens as well as the complex water management system are just a window to a time showing what life was like thousands of years ago. If we compare the first European civilizations and today’s suburban life we will see that there isn’t much difference between them.
