From the "Potatoes of Monte San Giacomo", the beans and the powder of sweet bell pepper (peperone sciuscillone), and oil, a recipe exclusive to this municipality has always been obtained. It is a sort of mashed potato with the described ingredients having both the function of single dish and of side dish to other dishes. It is usual to season this dish by placing on it an abundant ladle of fried peppers. As a demonstration of the fact that this preparation has been practiced in the territory for more than 25 years, as required by the law, there is the annual festival of "Patan e Cicc" which takes place in Monte San Giacomo and which already boasts XXXI editions.
