The Ouzoud Falls are the highest waterfalls in North Africa. It is one of the most famous and visited tourist attractions around Marrakech and it is not hard to see why. Leaving the city behind and witnessing the spectacle of massive streams of water cascading into a reddish rock gorge is a thrill that is hard to imagine when you are still being sucked into the chaos and deafening vendors of the medina. Many tourists remember visiting the waterfalls as one of the most beautiful moments of their holiday in Morocco, fascinated by the breathtaking views and the magnificent colors of nature: the red of the rock, the green of the olive trees that grow in the area and the thousands of rainbows formed by the droplets of water in suspension. This natural wonder is a pearl of the Middle Atlas, the mountain range that runs through central Morocco.
