The Holy Trinity Column, the Czech Sloup Nejsv?t?jší Trojice, is an imposing Baroque monument overlooking the central Upper Square of the city of Olomouc in the Czech Republic.
It was built between 1716 and 1754 with the main objective of creating a spectacular celebration of the Catholic faith as a vow at the end of a plague that struck Moravia (now in the Czech Republic) between 1714 and 1716. The column also represents the sense of belonging to the city, as all the artists and craftsmen who worked on the monument were citizens of Olomouc and almost all the saints represented were related to the city.
It is 35 metres high and is the most important Baroque sculpture group in the Czech Republic. In 2000 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List to be one of the most outstanding examples of Baroque artistic expression in Central Europe.
