The Olof Palme memorial plaque in Stockholm, Sweden, was unveiled in 2016 to mark the 30th anniversary of the prime minister's death. The plaque is located at the site where Palme was assassinated, near the house where he lived, on Sveavägen, a prominent street in Stockholm. Palme was killed while crossing the street, unescorted by any bodyguard. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, causing a shock in peaceful Swedish society.Due to the fact that Palme was an active critic of the Vietnam War, apartheid, and totalitarian regimes, his murder has been shrouded in conspiracy theories. Despite several investigations, his murder still remains unsolved. In February 2017, the case was reopened and still remains a mystery.In addition to the memorial plaque located on Sveavägen, where Palme was murdered, his memory is also honored in the Adolf Fredriks kyrka cemetery, where he is buried. In the cemetery, there is a stone memorial with Palme's signature.
