In order to enhance and make Umbrian agricultural life better and better known, the Vecchio Frantoio Bartolomei has created its own museum collecting, in special spaces, always open to the public, old machinery and tools related to olive growing. The exhibition has been conceived and realized as a path through the phases of olive oil production: from the cultivation of the olive tree to the harvesting of the fruits, from their processing to the storage of the finished product. Walking through the exhibition rooms, where it is also possible to admire illustrations and period photos, the visitor is guided to discover the secrets of a crop that dates back over 6000 years.
Right in our oil mill you can admire one of the rarest examples of 16th century presses and, in addition, antiques, archaeological finds, curiosities and machinery used until a few years ago that testify how ancient is the dedication and passion that the Bartolomei family has for this agricultural practice.
