Known primarily for its Art Deco District, Ocean Drive is a cluster of 1920s-style hotels in the heart of South Beach.
Among the many buildings is the Gianni Versace Mansion, where the designer made his home, which adds a hint of Mediterranean flavor. It is a restored Spanish convent, to which Versace had added a garden and swimming pool, created on the site of an old hotel that had been demolished.
In the new part of the street there are several multi-storey buildings from the nineties, including the building at 1500 Ocean Drive designed in 1993 by architect Michael Graves.
Ocean Drive is also a great place to go for those who love the beach life: from a morning jog by the sea, to enjoy the positive vibes of the rising sun, to relaxing under the curtains of a beach cabana.
Ocean Drive is also a myth of American cinema. Many famous films have been filmed here, such as "Scarface" or "Miami Vice".
