The Neptunbrunnen is a monumental fountain located in Bremen’s central station square. The fountain was created in 1913 by Bremen architect Ludwig Klingenberg in the neo-Baroque style.The fountain depicts the mythological figure of Neptune, god of the sea and rivers, holding a trident and riding a chariot drawn by sea horses. Surrounding him are four other female figures, representing the four seasons.The Neptunbrunnen has been restored and renovated several times over the years, and in 1996 it was removed from its original location in the station square and moved to the square in front of Bremen City Hall.The fountain has become a popular tourist attraction for visitors to Bremen because of its beauty and majesty. The fountain is conveniently located in the center of the old town, close to stores, restaurants and cafes.
