Who has never dreamed of being in the shoes of Marty McFly in Back to the Future? Well, then you must see this archaeological site. Time travel takes you to 3000 BC (not even Doc managed to cover this distance with his own time machine!). About 10 km from Alghero, on the road to Porto Torres, there is the prehistoric complex of Anghelu Ruju, consisting of 38 tombs excavated in the sandstone called domus de janas (fairy houses). Access is from top to bottom, walking through wells, or through monumental descending corridors. Most of the works have been moved to various museums, but in some rooms there are still some sculptures in the shape of bull’s horns, which protected the sleep of the dead.
