The Neapolitan Carnival lasagna is practically a must for all families in this city. Recipe so ancient that it dates back to the end of 1700, in the period of the Kingdom of the two Sicilies. Apparently King Ferdinand II appreciated this dish so much that he took the nickname of "Re Lasagna"!What differentiates this preparation from other lasagna is the complexity of the ingredients used, meat sauce cooked over low heat for hours, small fried meatballs, boiled eggs, ricotta cheese, fior di latte and pecorino cheese.
